Saar Riesling Barrel X
A light-bodied, off-dry Saar Riesling. In the past, the grapes regularly came from Scheidterberg, a site that became part of the expanded Kupp after passage of the 1971 German Wine Law. (This bottling is called Alt Scheidt in Germany.) It’s Saar Riesling intended for avid consumption, though—thanks to fruit from slate soils and spontaneous fermentation—it maintains complex smoky and sponti aromas to match its typical Saar briskness.
