St. Aldegunder Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett trocken
A dry Mosel Kabinett under 10% alcohol (!) from the Stein’s oldest parcel: an east-facing slope with small terraces in the original (pre-1971 German Wine Law) Himmelreich, with ungrafted vines, many over 100 years old. Those old vines shift the conversation away from Oechsle-mania and toward a more subtle, crucial understanding of physiological ripeness. It is a traditional, light, dry Kabinett of nuance and grace.
